  WORLD ON FIRE

This collection is designed to highlight the growing environmental crisis. The fabric is 100% hemp linen, and was hand dyed in a transition from green, to orange, to grey, as a metaphor for the planet catching fire and burning up as people continuously mistreat it.

The textile industry contributes to approximately 20% of industrial water pollution, and 10% of carbon emissions. Additionally, 85% of all textiles winds up in landfills every year, where it then takes them anywhere from 20-200 years to decompose.

The fact of the matter is the fashion industry needs to adapt, because the earth is at stake.

Every brand needs to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

World on Fire made such a strong statement that it was shown at Hempsmith Fashion Show 2019, Durham Fashion Week 2019, Greensboro Fashion Week 2019, and was also selected to be displayed at the 2019 MAGIC trade show in Las Vegas, where I represented NC State to speak about the benefits of hemp and the importance of sustainability.
